We took this Scarborough home from dated and constrained to modern, spacious, and structurally exceptional. Avery’s House is a full-home transformation we completed in 2024 that exemplifies how thoughtful design-build execution can unlock a property’s true potential.

From the ground up, we reinvented this home with:
- A custom second floor addition that blends seamlessly with the existing structure, maximizing living space and delivering elevated curb appeal.  
- A total main floor renovation with open-concept planning and premium finishes tailored to daily family life.  
- A bespoke kitchen remodel featuring a sleek custom island, integrated storage solutions, and streamlined flows.  
- Two fully renovated bathrooms with modern fixtures and luxurious wet-room design.  
- Upgraded mechanical systems:  including a high-efficiency furnace and modern water heater, for performance, comfort, and long-term value.  
- New windows & high-performance envelopes that dramatically improved comfort, aesthetics, and energy efficiency.  


Entire Home Transformation & Second Floor Addition

Scandi Skies in East York

Scandi Skies is a full second storey addition that transformed a modest bungalow into a light-filled, Scandinavian-inspired modern home. Designed and built by Cedarstone Group, this project showcases our expertise in structural renovations, vertical additions, and precision craftsmanship.

We added an entirely new upper level connected by a custom open-riser staircase that visually anchors the home while allowing natural light to flow between floors. The new second floor includes:
	• Two spacious bedrooms with 15-foot vaulted ceilings
	• A spa-inspired modern bathroom
	• Enhanced insulation and structural reinforcement
	• Clean, minimal Scandinavian detailing throughout

Structural & Design Highlights: 
This project required advanced structural engineering to support a full vertical expansion. Cedarstone’s team completed:
	• Structural reinforcement of the existing foundation and load-bearing walls
	• Custom framing for vaulted ceiling assemblies
	• Open-riser stair design and installation
	• Energy-efficient building envelope upgrades
	• Modern Scandinavian interior finishing

The result is a seamless blend between old and new, preserving the footprint while dramatically increasing livable square footage and long-term property value.

The Hurdy Estates in North York

The Hurdy Estates is a full interior structural renovation that transformed a compartmentalized bungalow into a seamless open-concept living space.

By removing a major load-bearing wall at the center of the home, we re-engineered the structure to create a continuous flow between the living room, dining area, and kitchen. The result is a brighter, more functional layout designed for modern living.

Additional upgrades included a custom foyer feature wall, new flooring throughout, staircase modernization with glass railing, new interior doors, and full interior repainting.

This project was proudly featured on The Marc and Mandy Show, highlighting the impact of thoughtful structural renovation paired with elevated design.
